Rural Advisor are delighted to announce that Ellie Watkins has recently secured planning permission at Planning Committee for a most exciting rural tourism development in St Weonards, Herefordshire. The project has been a number of years in design, with Ellie being involved after other consultants told the applicant that he was unlikely to be successful with what he proposed.
The scheme located overlooking stunning Herefordshire countryside will involve the conversion of two existing traditional barns, to a one bed and a two bed holiday lets, the provision of three new, bespoke, three-bedroom chalets, the inclusion of the existing four-bedroom bungalow to a holiday let, and the replacement of a pole barn with a recreation area including a swimming pool and games room. Outside there will be extensive and complimentary landscaping and a communal covered barbeque area. A video of the project can be viewed here:- http://www.kulla.co.uk/caerwendy
Due to the scale of the venture, it was necessary to direct the application to Planning Committee, where it was passed unanimously, and it was said to be “one of the most exciting projects to be presented to the Committee in a number of years” suggesting to that it was a fantastic project for Herefordshire and would offer many benefits to the local businesses.
Once again, we worked with local architect Owen Toms, who designed the scheme based on the applicant’s instructions. It is undoubtedly a significant scheme, which will offer high end tourism, encouraging visitors to a beautiful part of the county.
